Sunday Best.

Today is Sunday which means Church.
I thought it would be fun to put together a few modest, basic, church/work outfits using only one basic skirt and one basic white shirt.
This is to help anyone out who isn't sure how to put an outfit together. I will try to put in all of my tips to putting outfits together and my pictures will just be examples to go off of.

The Basics:
These are the basics of the outfit. A simple white wonder tee from Downeast Basics and a ruffle pencil skirt from Banana Republic. A pencil skirt is a must-have staple article of clothing for any woman's wardrobe.

Outfit #1:
This outfit I chose a BP. Three Quarter Sleeve Jersey Cardigan (also a very good staple item and they come in tons of colors!) from Nordstrom. I paired it with a colorful scarf from Old Navy, and black BP boots from Nordstrom (boots are great for fall and winter).
I wore this outfit with a simple black headband.
Tip: When you wear a scarf like this you don't need to wear big earrings. I usually wear a simple pair of studs because you don't want to over accessorize. I also really like this scarf because it has so many different colors and you can pull so many different colors out of it and pair it with a lot of different outfits.
Outfit #2:

The Shoes.
This outfit was created with another BP. Three Quarter Sleeve Jersey Cardigan and a turquoise beaded necklace. I paired this with some animal print Sam Edelman "Charleen" flats embellished with a studded flower to add some shine.
Tip: In an outfit you want to at least have 1. a pop of color 2. a solid (color) 3. a pattern or a texture 4. a metalic or shine (patten leather shoes or a silver or gold necklace/jewelry) 5. and an accessory.
Outfit #3:

 The Shoes.
This outfit is VERY basic but very cute. The sweater is from Banana Republic
I chose not to pair a necklace with this outfit because I think the flower detailing on the sweater is enough and I wanted that to be the focal point, but don't get me wrong, you could pair a necklace with this outfit.
These shoes are by Glint from Nordstrom. They make the outfit feel a little more dressed up. These are "caged" shoes and the patten leather lining on the cage adds more emphasis to the shoes.
Tip: Pick a focal point to your outfit. Don't over accessorize if you are trying to place the focal point on the details in your clothing. If you are trying to have the focal point on the accessories tone down your clothing color to allow the jewelry to SHINE.
Outfit #4:

 The Shoes.
Yet again another BP. Three Quarter Sleeve Jersey Cardigan! I know, I know...I'm obsessed but they fit perfect, they have tons of different colors, and it is a basic that you can pair with so many different things. I paired this mustard yellow cardigan with a peachy orange beaded necklace and a pair or purple flats.
Tip: Pair contrasting colors with one another, they will compliment each other. Also a good idea is to keep warmer colors together and cooler colors together.

I hope some of tips have helped, if you have any more questions feel free to ask! I will answer them to the best of my ability.
